Ahakuelo Confirmed by honolulu City Council to Serve on the city Salary Commission

Local 1260 Business Manager/Financial Secretary Brian Ahakuelo has been appointed to serve on the City & County of Honolulu’s Salary Commission.   The seven member panel is an independent entity charged with establishing the salaries of all elected City officials including the Mayor, City Council Members, City Managing Director, the City’s Prosecuting Attorney and all City & County Department Heads, to name a few.

Ahakuelo was nominated to serve on the Salary Commission by Councilmember Tulsi Gabbard and recently confirmed by a vote of the City Council.

Upon making the nomination, Gabbard said of Ahakuelo, “His years of experience in Government Affairs combined with his valuable labor expertise gives him a rich background and understanding of the salary process.”

“I am honored, first to be nominated by Councilmember Gabbard and then to be confirmed by the full City Council.” said Ahakuelo, “I look forward to dutifully serving on the commission.”

Ahakuelo will serve a five year appointment.
